An Area of Land Dominated by Trees brings together Mandy Franca's ongoing series of works that started in 2023, exploring intelligence, interdependence, and the natural world. Taking its title from Wikipedia's definition of a forest, the series uses layered photography, collage, painting, and drawing to examine forms of life and communication that exist beyond the human, challenging the individualism of Western society and asking us to reconsider our relationship with nature and with each other.
